In general, a USB flash drive will work, as long as it has at least 16GB of storage. Selecting a USB driveīefore following this tutorial, you’ll need to make sure you have access to a USB drive that can serve as the installation destination. As noted at the outset, one of the primary benefits of creating a Monterey USB Install drive is to install Monterey on multiple computers. You can use the App Store to download Monterey, or install macOS from Recovery. It’s important to note that you don’t need to make a USB Installer to install macOS Monterey. You can then eject your USB drive or SD card and can format it.In this hands-on video walkthrough, I’ll show you how to turn an eligible USB drive, one that you may already have laying around the house, into a handy macOS Monterey install disk. After a few steps, MacOS will be successfully installed on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions and proceed with the installation. Choose the language and click on Install MacOS. From the boot menu, select the USB drive and hit enter. It can be different depending on your computer’s model. Start the computer and press the boot key like F10, F12, etc. Connect it to the computer on which you want to install MacOS. Close Etcher and eject your USB drive or SD card. Once it is done, you will see a “Flash complete” message. You will see the status and estimated time remaining on the screen. Click on Flash! Etcher will verify the integrity of the image file and will start burning after successful validation. Now, click on “Select target” and choose the SD card/USB drive on which you want to burn the image file. Insert the USB drive or SD card to your computer. Choose the MacOS image file that you downloaded and select it. Run Etcher and click “Flash from file”. Download the MacOS official image file. 
After the installation, Etcher will load.Drag the downloaded file from Downloads folder to Applications folder.Download the MacOS version of Etcher software.
Open Terminal Window and type in the following commands. Download the Linux version of Etcher software. The installation will finish and Etcher software will load. Double click the downloaded file and click on “Agree”.
